My primary concern with martial arts and shooting is self-defense. In this drill, I demonstrate a “modern mixed martial arts” drill. The purpose of the drill is to get your heart rate up, be ready to switch combat modes from punching to firing and vice-versa, and in this drill I also randomly loaded his mags between 3 to 5 rounds to practice reloading.
This drill is a lot of fun – but it should only be practiced under the supervision of a professional firearms instructor. A lot can go wrong when you are excited and/or tired, having proper technique is a must, especially when drawing and re-holstering your firearm.
